@sippingsuds Risk management in cattle feeding is done at the point of purchase and sale and is in no way done at any other time. If done at another time, that’s great but it’s then speculation. At that point it’s no longer valid to blame the futures.

@seedcattleguy @IowaFarmBureau More specifically it should state the fact that since the rise in feed costs it hasn’t harmed the cattle feeder at all (he may claim it has if he is speculating on feed costs). It has however significantly lowered revenue to the cattle rancher.
