@omegaprimer @BC4ABoysBBall Clearly school size doesn’t necessarily reflect competitive level for a school. Football allows schools to play in tier different than size would place them and even has hybrid conferences to better match levels of competition. Basketball needs to do same.

@CFL_expansion @CanadaWest @SFU Simple. Budget reflects priorities, values & culture of an institution. In challenging financial times, varsity athletics & particularly football do not rank highly for SFU admin. Therefore to save money, no football team while inevitable surviving sports move to Canada West.

But he may have been younger in rookie year at UBC than 20 yr old freshman Pepe Gonzalez given CEGEP advantage of extending beyond Gr 12 equivalent. Most freshmen elsewhere are 18.

1) #SFU Athletics rightly attracts ridicule. They play in Division II against small American colleges few have heard of and fewer would consider academically. Cancellation of its football program was a reputational fiasco and travesty for their orphaned players.
