#BNB and we keep building and building
It's easy to be cynical and think there is some catch when @MichaelGSantos and I say, "Everything is free at Prison Professors."
There is no catch.
This message I just received continues to validate why I chose to become an ambassador of this message, proudly sharing lessons Michael taught me. And the impact we have had has led to incredible support and awareness from our @PrisonProf_BNB community.
“Paying it forward” can sound cliché, but that is what this is.
The comments below about the “Purple Cow” and “outcomes are engineered, not hoped for” are lessons Michael taught me while we walked the track in federal prison, or when I joined him in that prison quiet room around 5am.
I proudly pass them along.
"Justin,
I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you.
You and I have never worked together one-on-one, and I was never in a position to formally retain you or your team. But over the last two years, I attended your webinars, watched your content, and took advantage of every free resource and course I could get my hands on.
I listened.
I learned.
And most importantly, I applied what you taught.
I recently stood before Judge Karen Williams in federal court for sentencing. My advisory guideline range being argued by the government was 84 to 105 months.
I received 45 months.
No cooperation.
No Rule 35.
No §5K1.1.
No magic trick.
Just relentless preparation, accountability, mitigation work, and a commitment to becoming the person I was asking the court to believe I could be.
Throughout my case, I was also raising three children as a single father, maintaining employment, complying with pretrial supervision, attending treatment, gathering records, building a mitigation package, and documenting every aspect of my life and rehabilitation.
It was exhausting at times, but I kept hearing your voice in the back of my mind reminding people that outcomes are engineered, not hoped for.
One lesson that always stuck with me was your Purple Cow concept.
Anybody can show up to court as another defendant in another case file.
Very few people take the time to become memorable.
Very few people take the time to tell their story correctly, document their growth, accept responsibility, and demonstrate who they actually are beyond the offense conduct.
You taught me that if a judge sees a field full of ordinary cows, they glance and move on. But if they see a purple cow, they stop and take a second look.
I made it my mission to become that purple cow.
Not through manipulation.
Not through excuses.
But through authenticity, accountability, hard work, and preparation.
For anyone in your community wondering whether your teachings actually work, I can honestly say they do, but only if you're willing to do the work.
The webinars, courses, and mitigation strategies are not shortcuts. They are tools. The results come from applying them consistently over time.
I am living proof of that.
Thank you for everything you've put out into the world. You helped someone you'll probably never meet change the trajectory of his case, his future, and most importantly, his children's future.
I will always be grateful for that.
Respectfully,
Chris"
I want to thank the @PrisonProf_BNB community for hosting our first AMA on spaces. I appreciate all of you for donations that have surpassed 900 #BNB to further our mission.
