Today I had the opportunity to recognize the countless amazing MB educators, admin, staff and students.
Bill 64: The Education Modernization Act, does nothing to help teachers, staff, students and families.
We’ve delayed it and we’ll keep fighting alongside all of you ✊🏾❤️
Quality over quantity, education is not a factory! Less students per classroom means more one on one time per student. It’s simple math that many teachers wish politicians could do.
The truth is out there. Funding is not increasing in Swan Valley School Division. Stop listening to the lies. Use your voice and speak up for public education in Manitoba. Oh and this is just one of the funding areas cut in the next year's budget. Share away everyone.
A responsible government would fund education appropriately! Funding equals more resources and services for our students! If you want students to be successful then provide the funding schools need to facilitate quality education! #useyourvoice#fundeducation

@mingoertzen Will you do the prep work for the teachers who are planning both online classes and in person classes so they can take a break? I think all politicians should sub a couple days each so they can actually give teachers a break!
Having heard this feedback, school divisions have been advised that schools will reopen for students on September 8th after Labour Day. This is the traditional start time for students. /3 #MBPoli
In his latest HEADlines article, @hta_president, Wendell Head examines the analogy of "the straw that broke the camel's back" in relation to the current conditions for teachers in Manitoba.
We invite you to consider this thoughtful and fair article.

I should like to add that I have also appreciated the hard work that my colleagues @BobickN, @BeaMW6590, @KerryWMEnns, @cdarazsi, @kflallis, @Bharding12, @KatieHart84, & @CPellizzaro have put in to their campaigns. @Mbteachers members will win tomorrow, regardless of the outcome.
Been messaging colleagues during Provincial Council - as per our normal practice. It reminds me how much I miss seeing everyone in person!! MTS = FAMILY!
“The premier was clear that The Manitoba Teachers’ Society will have an opportunity to consult on these proposed changes.” For regular updates regarding MTS advocacy for Members and public education, be sure to keep checking the MTS website. https://t.co/jZTUotzWuS
