hanging out here for the markets with my touch of 'tism
I’m not actually a dude named bob obviously but it’s easier here that way

[Bob @Bobrwgk]

@elonmusk PR becoming a state would be a truly wild political circus

[Bob @Bobrwgk]

whatttt I love this

[Punchoutpitch @Punchoutpitch]

The Brewers regarded smoking cigarettes before games as a good luck charm and their motto was ‘if we smoke heaters in the cage, we will smoke heaters in the game’

Christian Yelich on this:

“You walk by the cage and see the cigs lit and you’re like, the boys are ready to rock.”

@RatWasteCapital well done. The psychology of it is too clear in retrospect.

@GelsingerINTC @asianinvestors @bubbleboi Precisely

@anni_sen @benitoz @Srasgon THIS — what I loved about the call was it laid bare all the glaring issues and now maybe there’s upside if they can make the right moves. If!

[Bob @Bobrwgk]

do you think everyone just gave each other looks before that Google call, like the grim “this is going to be ugly but I guess it’s why I get paid” or were they just a little naive as to how bad it really was going to hit

[Bob @Bobrwgk]

the brewers were SO FUN to watch. This year’s playoffs made me a baseball fan again. Thank you @Brewers ❤️
from someone who has never set foot is Wisconsin 😭

[Bob @Bobrwgk]

@BULLOFBRITAIN woah 🤯

[Bob @Bobrwgk]

this is why crypto is essentially dead to me- the innovation and market cycle stuff has moved back to tradfi. Call me a volatility addict, but this is where opportunity is born if you can play these cycles.

[Bob @Bobrwgk]

why I love markets, this stuff is genuinely so fascinating. I’m like a kid in a candy store, the mechanics of markets are never-ending brain food. Who needs fiction when we are living through this stuff.

AI market colour:

TLDR; Two paths forwards:
1. If stocks keep falling - HFs still hold big positions on both sides so they'd have to dump their longs and buy back their shorts at the same time. Messy messy situation.
2. If stocks turnaround higher - HFs have a large amount of AI shorts on rn, so they'd have to buy those back = short squeeze territory.

So the current situation with AI stocks is that hedgies have pushed overall net exposure to the lowest level all year (latest GS PB data) with the L/S ratio for AI names near its lows.

Basically, that means there's a lot of room for them to get more long (cope, but true).

Across the entire book, HFs have mostly shorted against their longs rather than completely selling them, with short sales running at ~5x long buys in October MTD. That said, Tech has been hit from both sides with the record selling coming from long sales AND new shorts. FWIW, I don’t think there’s reason to panic since I highly doubt many funds out there are short the entire AI theme.

A lot of the longs are now concentrated in Mag 7 which is now a record ~22% of US net exposure. So in essence, the trade has been long stable megacaps, short the rest of the AI supply chain.

Funds don’t really have much room to add new long risk right now with gross already fairly elevated, so the way back for semis is by them covering shorts. A lot of the shorts recently have been put on in memory, photonics and the neoclouds, as well as Asian semis, so upside headroom is probably most significant in those areas.

Time will tell. Would not try to time bottoms here.

[Bob @Bobrwgk]

@GiffLasta your advice requires radical self ownership not rule based fantasy of how others should behave for a relationship to work. Others seem to see relationships as a power struggle men must win. Choose your paradigm. Control over another to get what you want? Or self possession?

this… checks out

[Murray Hill Guy @MurrayHillGuy1]

Building the ideal NFL roster based entirely on their relationship situation:

QB: Married to an above-average looking woman he met before he was famous. Attractive, supportive, but not Madison Beer hot. QB1 cannot have distractions.

RB: Knocked up his college girlfriend sophomore year. Still with her. 3 kids. Rumored mistress that everyone in the organization knows about but nobody discusses. May have one domestic violence charge that got dropped.

WR1: Completely single. Zero responsibilities. Following 4,700 women on Instagram. Let him cook.

WR2: Dating an Instagram model with 800k followers. Relationship is extremely toxic. Somehow this makes him better.

Slot WR: White guy married to a beautiful mid blonde. Golden retriever. Two kids. Lives 12 minutes from the facility. Automatic on 3rd & 7.

TE: Dating a famous actress/singer who gets shown during every broadcast. Annoying but necessary for team morale.

LT/RT: Married to high school sweethearts. Southern women. Three kids minimum. Own homes on 5+ acres. Absolutely zero nightlife.

Guards: Also married. Wives are best friends. Joint family vacations every offseason.

Center: Has been with the same woman since 8th grade. She packs his lunch.

WR3: Single, but not famous enough to pull WR1 numbers. Gets the girls WR1 stopped responding to.

Kicker: Wife is inexplicably a 10. Nobody understands how he did it.

Punter: You have literally no idea if he has ever spoken to a woman.

This team goes 14-3.
