It's easy to focus on the negative, so I decided to put all the positive feedback I've received on full rejections in one place. Looking at it makes me feel like I'm making progress. #WritingCommunity#querying#amwriting#fantasy
"Cooked" is fascinating slang. When used in the past participle, i.e "I'm cooked," it has a negative connotation, as in "I'm done" or "I'm in trouble." But the present participle, i.e "I'm cooking," has a positive connotation, as in "I'm crushing it." #grammar
Two big rejections this week on fulls-but yet I'm feeling reinvigorated today. I'd forgotten the thrill of working on a fresh #horror#WIP - being excited about new ideas, characters, and twists - and how much it alleviates the dejection of the #querying trenches.
@HFLane_writing My go to is Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow. It just FEELS like October. I still wish we got a movie series of Ichabod, Katrina, and Young Masbath investigating other folkloric mysteries in Upstate NY...actually...*jots down note in idea journal*
@AuthorGoodwin Yes and no. Before really digging into writing twitter, all I had was QueryTracker, where the idea of an offer was so elusive. Seeing offers happening to so many people here demystified the concept for me and made me realize “oh hey, it does happen and it’s possible.”
@estywrites When you request an R&R on a full, are you looking for it to fundamentally “fix” the manuscript, or is it more that you’re testing to see if the author responds to feedback and is someone good to work with at an editorial level?
Okay #WritingCommunity, If your #WIP or #amquerying book were adapted into an HBO series, what would be the song used in the intro title sequence at the beginning of every episode? I’ll go first: Tell Me Who You Are Today by Beth Gibbons https://t.co/f6QSmsXIvZ
