I've a theory that might explain Trump's weird behavior online and at rallies.
Deep down he doesn't want to win and be forced to live in the "crown jewel of the Federal Prison system". But he has created a powerful mythology of his success & power that he can't stop running.
@elonmusk Every state I've lived in requires photo i.d. to vote. Elon, you're probably discovering how difficult it is to vote in Texas even with an valid state i.d.
Who lives in a state which does not require a photo i.d. to vote?
@DavidCornDC I'm almost 80. My mind is fine in the morning but fades as the day wears on. If the debate had been held during the day Joe might have been able to take on the lying narcissist. Joe and Jill need to fess up - at best he's a part-time POTUS.
@BillKristol When Biden withdraws the GOP will have to totally reevaluate their candidate. His performance Thursday was just as bad as Joe's. This slate is the result of the political party system the founders opposed. Both sides are putting party over country.
Will Biden withdrawing create chaos?
No. Biden withdraws, the delegates are free agents, several candidates run, they make their pitches, polls suggest who'd do well against Trump--and the delegates vote and select a nominee. Whom the whole party supports and who defeats Trump.
@JoeNBC See something? Say something! Joe's bad debate night was much more worrisome than that. Joe needs to hand the nuclear football to V.P. Harris and resign. POTUS is not ceremonial, it's the most important job on the planet. This is the problem with parties the founders foresaw.
@davidaxelrod@JoeBiden@POTUS Remember “If you see something, say something”? I saw two men unfit to govern, not now nor next year. Joe was a great POTUS, but what if there is a catastrophic natural disaster before next January - and the man who showed up to debate shows up to lead us through great trouble?
Joe Biden is no longer fit to be President. He must do the right thing and resign. POTUS is not a ceremonial office. Neither man in that debate should be allowed the title “Leader of the free world”.
We saw something and must say something!
President Harris announces that she will stand for reelection promising to fix immigration once and for all, legalize cannabis, appoints AOC Veep and replaces AG Garland with Eric Swalwell.
As Trump tries to adjust his campaign schtick, he gets so flustered MAGA falls apart.
My Biden Fantasy:
POTUS climbs to the podium to give the State of the Union speech, but instead asks VP Harris to the microphone and announces his resignation effectively immediately. He then asks Justice Roberts to come up and administer the Oath of Office to Pres. Harris.....

@krassenstein It’s time to get a case to the Supreme Court to argue that all anti-abortion laws violate the establishment clause of the First Amendment. Try to argue that the state is harmed by abortion and leave religion out of it.
Amen. Hey Rob, you could give VP Harris tips on getting onstage even if Joe doesn’t like it. She must step up to assume the POTUS so she’s a plus not a minus. Power isn’t given, it’s taken. It really is BIDEN/HARRIS now.
@SteveSchmidtSES His followers take that to mean he’s a strong leader. Forget trying to unsell him to MAGA, start educating on the things he’s done and wants to do which hurt them! Beyond tax cuts, tariffs they pay for, alliances that make USA the big dog on the block and following not leading.
The solution is to make a direct challenge to anti-choice laws on the grounds they violate the 1st Amendment. You can only support your belief that an embryo is a person by introducing religious arguments. Your abortion creates no societal harm.
You gotta wonder why the families of both guys don’t love them enough to stop them before they go off the global stage in disgrace.
Both will likely die in office, and in a world worse off than it is today.
“A REPUBLIC, IF YOU CAN KEEP IT” We can’t. What we need now is a new Constitution laying out our right to determine our policies through a direct vote. (Referendums)
