Herbert Stanley Allen FRSE FRS pioneer in early X-ray research, quantum physicist born in Bodmin on 29th December 1873 Very proud of his Cornish birth and that was no doubt the reason why his house in Hepburn Gardens, St Andrews, was named ‘Lamorna’.
