I don't mean to denigrate or discourage young singers who often post their funky,rizzy interpretations of popular old songs on social media,but the singing is too contrived for my liking,alas!
The greatness of our playback singers like #LataMangeshkar and #KishoreKumar lies in the fact that they didn't need to embellish the song. Too many embellishments actually overpower the melody,which is the strength of Indian film music.Some leading singers these days like to croon,others seem to breathe heavily into the mike from time to time for no reason. I call this type of contemporary singing :"pop star/rockstar" singing. It has more artifice than soul.Our greats used to sing in traditional/classical style.Simple and soulful.
You may disagree with me,but believe me no one remembers contemporary melodies beyond a couple of years any more because of the "banavat" . Whereas songs sung by #KLSaigal Latadi Kishoreda #MohdRafi saheb #MannaDe #Mukesh #GeetaDutt Ashatai TalatMehmood Hemantda and others continue to be evergreen, decades after they were released,because of the purity of their singing. So powerful.

If Shahrukh were in Hollywood instead of Bollywood, his entire status would be revealed and the hidden ideological hypocrisy of this cunning Fox would also be exposed. Who does not know that he made a deal worth many Crores to save his son Aryan Khan from being caught along with evidence in the drug scandal. Now, Shahrukh is branding his son Aryan Khan in a big way by doing high level PR management and the officer who took honest legal action in that incident has been declared a villain. But Interestingly, Shahrukh Khan also played the victim card besides doing all the theft and conspiracy whereas the real victim of Aryan Khan drug scandal is brother Sameer Wankhede (@swankhede_IRS).
