They are invalid attempts to break the mesh. The open question is whether a network this strict stays easy to reason about as the mesh grows, or whether the same rigidity that kills forks also makes future protocol changes harder to introduce.
Block IDs on @RetiumChain come from prime factorization. Each tick adds a new prime, and valid positions are calculated from those relationships. Any node can rerun the same math and get the same structure.That is the point of Proof of Math. Validators do not invent the next slot
They execute the slot the math already made valid. A competing block cannot sit beside a valid one just because it arrived first or had more stake behind it. If the prime structure does not fit, the block is rejected. Forks are not settled later by a longest chain rule.
