I never met Charlie Kirk, but when he was killed last year, I cried like a baby. For two weeks I walked around so out of sorts like my best friend had been killed. It made no sense. I didn’t know him and people are killed all the time. Why did this impact me so much?

As time went on I found out I wasn’t alone. Almost every Christian I spoke to felt the same thing. It wasn’t normal grief. It was a spiritual sadness that had come over us. Something in the body of Christ had recognized that a voice God had been using had been taken from us.

Charlie wasn’t a pastor, but he had more courage and conviction than most I’ve ever met. He went around the country and inspired millions by saying what you weren’t supposed to say: that there is truth, there is a God (and we aren’t Him), America is worth defending, and the young people in America are not disposable. He did it without apology and without fear of the danger it put him in.

A year later I still think about Charlie every day. Many on the left are celebrating that Charlie is gone on this anniversary. But instead of getting angry, we should show the same compassion and patience that Charlie showed with these people. That’s part of why Charlie was so effective and how he won so many hearts. He carried out his mission without an ounce of malice in his heart. I can’t say that I do that and I don’t think most anyone does. It’s rare and that’s why it’s so effective.

It’s ok to be sad today. I am. But that shouldn’t be where it stops. It is so clear that God anointed the work Charlie was doing and that work is not finished.

Speak up. Get married. Have more kids than you can afford and raise them to fear God. Speak the truth no matter what it costs. Tell people about Jesus every chance you get and never outsource courage to the next guy with a microphone.

Charlie is not with us today, but the mission continues and we all have a part to play.

I’ve had this footage for quite some time, and I’ve gone back and forth on whether I should share it at all.

We’ve all seen the footage of Charlie being carried away. But most of this version comes from a 4K source, and the clarity reveals details that simply aren’t visible in most of the versions that have circulated.

That also makes it incredibly brutal to watch.

I’ve decided to share it for one reason: the fewer false trails we spend our time investigating, the better.

There are theories that Charlie didn’t die that day. I wanted there to be something in this footage that left room for that hope.

There isn’t.

To me, this shows a man who died there, at the scene. I don’t believe he suffered. And when they carry him away, I believe they are carrying a man who is already gone.

I’ve also seen it repeated countless times that there was almost no blood.

There was.

I wish this video supported a different conclusion. It doesn’t.💔

I don't really have the right words for how I am feeling but Charlie Kirk you are missed.

The people who knew you lost a friend, an ally, a leader, a father, a son, a brother, a mentor and much more. I will pray for their broken hearts.
The people who didn't know you personally lost a voice for the everyday American and a common sense approach in the world of political extremes.
Quite frankly, I don't feel that much closer to figuring out what actually happened a year ago than the day I saw it. At this point, I have more questions than answers. I do know you demanded the truth in your short life here on Earth. That's what this investigation started out being. I hope we can find our way back to that for your sake.
