As a child bereaved by fatal domestic abuse, headlines calling a man who killed three women a “nice guy” and “normal person” have felt personally traumatic.

The media called my father a “gentle man” and “nice chap”, which misrepresented the controlling reality that myself and my family experienced for years. It compounded our trauma.

Reporting like this causes so much damage – both to victims’ families, and to public understandings of coercive control. It has to stop. Now.

We need every single newsroom trained in how to report domestic abuse deaths, and to lobby the regulator for stronger rules. The press has the power to prevent further deaths and save women’s lives.

UK Lawyers for Israel are accused of using “lawfare” to mount a series of complaints against teachers, healthcare workers, and even museum staff.

Their actions are now coming under scrutiny.

But my research shows that their patrons are closely linked to Keir Starmer’s Labour.

Stephen Hockman is another of the three UK Lawyers for Israel patrons accused of “using their professional seniority” to intimidate others.

According to Companies House, Hockman previously served as a director of Policy Network.

The think tank was led by Peter Mandelson.

In February, Streeting released a selection of his WhatsApp communications with disgraced ex-Labour peer Peter Mandelson, which included:

Wes Streeting, Labour’s ex-Health Minister, received a total of £8920 from Daniel, Joseph, Miriam, and Stephen Grabiner for his 2024 election campaign.

Streeting and Sackman have also both previously been funded by Jonathan Mendelsohn, a former head of Labour Friends of Israel.

Keir Starmer appointed Sarah Sackman first as Solicitor-General and then as Courts Minister.

In May 2024, she opposed ICC arrest warrants for Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, saying: “I trust the Israeli people to hold their leaders to account”.

In 2024, Sarah Sackman was elected as Labour MP for Finchley and Golders Green.

Before the election, she received a total of £11,150 from Joseph, Sarah, Miriam, and Stephen Grabiner.

Sackman previously worked as a judicial clerk at the Israeli Supreme Court.

Companies House lists 75 appointments for Stephen Grabiner, including previous directorships at UK Israel Business, the Jewish Chronicle, and the Telegraph Media Group.

In 2023, he donated a further £6000 to the Finchley and Golders Green branch of the Labour Party.

Anthony Grabiner KC, a crossbench peer, is one of three UK Lawyers for Israel patrons reported to the Bar Standards Board in relation to an alleged “pattern of legal of intimidation”.

His cousin Stephen Grabiner donated thousands to TWO Labour MPs: Wes Streeting + Sarah Sackman.
