Imagine the irony of saying the greatest goalscorer in the history of humanity has “finally scored,” as though there is any human being who has ever scored the way he has, or could score the way he does.
Take a bow, @Cristiano, you are incomparable. 41 and silencing haters!
The "Sharia Law" demand from the bandits involved in the Oyo State abduction case is very questionable; Don't you think this is suspicious? There have been religious debates in this country for months now, with the insecurity crisis worsening the issue and creating division amongst us thru propagandas and all sorts of agendas.
I refuse to believe that those culprits will use this as a bargaining chip, something about this seems too scripted or forced, more like politically motivated to further push a narrative and fuel the divsison.
If this was the case why then is the insecurity crisis also affecting Muslims in large numbers? Even during the last holidays many lost their lives right after prayers. These bandits can't be figthing for Islam and still be attacking Muslim communities. Something is off. We can argue and disagree on religious conversations, call-out what is wrong when necessary, but the one thing everyone should do is to not feed into propaganda.
That said, hold the govts accountable for all we are going thru.
Someone was raped and murdered in her home and a grown ass man is saying if she cooperated and didn’t put up a resistance, they would have spared her life. A dead dog is better than some of you.
You cannot rehabilitate a person that beheads a person.
You cannot rehabilitate someone that offs people for sport.
You cannot rehabilitate someone that kidnaps and rapes children.
This nonchalant approach to education won’t get you a 1.00/4.00 in the United States. Here, your 4.00 starts from the very first week of resumption. Finals consist of ~ 10% of the total semester grade.
These nonchalant first class graduates struggle when they come here, get depressed, and some are frustrated to the extent they go back home, and the reason is that the system isn’t built to wait for you to adjust. I’ve been here for 4 years and I’ve seen them come and go.
Also, this nonchalant approach to education is the reason we have so many first class graduates with no deep knowledge of their field. You don’t get grounded in your field by reading and passing 3 days to exam—that’s cramming—and it’s one of the causes of the decay in the Nigerian education system.
Saw a post that said, "Your belief in your duas coming true has to be greater than the fear of them not being answered", and honestly, that's it, that's our key to it all.
It's now clear that the Christians genocide propaganda is a deliberate attempt to silence Nigerian Muslims using the DSS as a tool. Why is condemning Israel's genocide a crime in Nigeria, when Christians are freely allowed to condemn Iran and even pray for their downfall?
Imagine you have an uncle. Let's call him Sam.
Uncle Sam owns a beautiful mansion, abundant food and lots of entertainment.
Anyone who can visit is welcome, allowed to work in the mansion, and if they prove loyalty and are of good behaviour, they're given a card that allows them to stay indefinitely.
However, not everyone, especially the most skilled individuals, wants to visit Uncle Sam. They would rather transform their own little houses into mansions. But Uncle Sam needs the best of the best to help him maintain his mansion, and he doesn't have enough skilled occupants to help him do that.
So, he goes around the neighbourhood threatening and sabotaging anyone who dares to build their own mansion.
When their efforts to build their own mansions fail, and they can obviously not visit other people whose mansions have also been sabotaged by Uncle Sam, they have no alternative but to go work in Uncle Sam’s mansion, where they live as second-class occupants, and get a fraction of the fulfilment they would have gotten had Uncle Sam left them alone to build their own mansions.
Still don’t understand how the country is moving on like nothing is happening,We are loosing citizens more than countries at war!
Yesterday alone 37 people were killed and 150 kidnapped.
Didn’t make the headlines today either and it’s become so normal that the government doesn’t think it’s much of a big deal.
I’ll tell you 4;
1. Every single day, your body produces at least one cell that has the potential to become a full-blown Cancer. But your immune system destroys it quietly without you ever knowing.
2. Your skeleton is very active. It constantly breaks itself down and rebuilds itself from scratch. Because of this process, you get a completely NEW skeleton every few years (about 10).
3. You actually have a second brain in your stomach called the Enteric Nervous System. About 90% of your Serotonin (the chemical that makes you happy) is produced there, not in your head!
So when you eat rubbish, it tells your brain to ruin your mood. That’s what is responsible for the 'butterflies in your stomach' feeling.
4. Cervical cancer is one of the ONLY cancers in the world that gives a 10 to 15-year 'notice period'. The virus that causes it (HPV) can hide in a woman's body for over a decade with ZERO symptoms. It is almost 100% preventable, but only if you catch it during that silent period.
Every Ramaḍān is a new lease of life, a new opportunity, a new hope, a door of grace and mercy re-opened. Don't squander it. I pray it will not be your last or mine. Āmīn.
However, treat it like it is your last. Give Ṣadaqah like you've never done before. Attend Ramaḍān lectures and Tafsīr sittings like you've never done before. Supplicate like never before. Devote a good part of your time to family and community service. Read the Qur'ān and do lots of Dhikr as much as you can. Shun music completely and only listen to the Qur'ān and beneficial programmes throughout Ramaḍān. Tell yourself always that, "it could be my last". Think about every moment in it and account for every moment you spend in it.
May Allah grant us all the blessings of Ramaḍān and the grace to witness and observe many more of it in good health and Īmān, may He never take us away from here until He is totally pleased with us. Āmīn.
