To me, Jax is just so clearly meant to represent one extreme way of "accepting" their horrible situation. A way that can turn you cruel, violent, and ultimately self destructive.

But I think you're perhaps too focused on the main cast having a morally correct response to such a person in their extreme situation.

But also frankly; the show isn't a morality test about dealing with a bad person. Jax IS an asshole and a bully.
