For the cause of seeking pity,
People flooded the square, singing their prayer
Which filled the Eternal City.

As certain doom was starting to loom
In its viral, pestilent form,
The Holy See became to be
More like a feverish swarm.

Pilgrims followed 'the call'
As souls in search of hope from the Church
(Whilst also endangering us all!)

It's unity;
It's beautiful;
It's camp!
Aren't you agreed it's the cure that we need
When life proves unbearably damp?

A hush soon befell everything
