@ownsobriety I always find it a little disrespectful when potential employers keep people hanging without any communication after interviews. I appreciate that the process can drag on, but quick updates on whether one is still in the running or not don’t cost much time.
I always said that my goal was to find my off-switch & establish self-control. Abstinence is the tool I am using to make that easier, by ridding myself of cravings. Getting there.....
This might not seem like much - I have not have abstained from alcohol every night in January. But I have been fully in control for 30/31 days. That’s a big step forward. #odaat#sober#regainingcontrol
@TheSoberOwlie @GirlWhoWrites2 I feel sorry for people whose tiny minds cannot cope with such minor “transgressions”. Then I deliberately go out of my way to offend them. It’s great fun 😈
Update after work trip. I caved ... ☹️ I’m sorry guys, after all the support you gave me. Back to 2 days sober now... but I know my triggers better, so that’s something, I hope. Feeling a lot of disgust at myself right now.
We should practise by showing affection and helping one another. It is a mistake to pursue happiness and to seek to the avoid suffering by deceiving and humiliating other people. We must try to achieve happiness and eliminate suffering by being considerate and good-hearted.
@RecoveryTerm Nobody can change the past, only our attitude to the present. I have overcome how some historical issues affected me by staying focussed on what *I* can control. That road led me to starting to get sober.... whilst I’ve had setbacks, I’m happier overall. #odaat
@TheSoberOwlie I’m coming to believe it’s an incremental process. As long as I keep inching closer to control, I’ll be able to stay positive. Keep strong!
@JoshSimonsen Thanks Josh. I do actually feel a lot more in control than before. Two of the nights I slipped were big parties, and I drank less than I normally would have. Baby steps, I guess. #odaat
