Gisteren heeft Achraf El Yakhloufi (Vooruit) in Terzake meerdere onwaarheden verspreid over Dries Van Langenhove en Tom Van Grieken. Eigenlijk is het positief dat Vooruit zulke lichtgewichten naar voren schuift, want zo kan iedereen zien op welk niveau zij aan politiek doen. Op basis van feiten kunnen ze het debat blijkbaar niet winnen, dus grijpen ze liever naar leugens. Zeer triest.

Zoals ik al even voorspelde: de beerput rond Vooruit-voorzitter Safouane Akremi vliegt helemaal open. In februari nam hij ontslag. Geen enkel woord van uitleg vanwege hem of de partij. Blijkt dat hij fraude pleegde met toewijzingen sociale woningen.

Natuurlijk was Vooruit hier 100% vanop de hoogte. Dat heb ik zelf vernomen van partijleden (er is zelfs nog veel meer aan de hand). Toch koos men ervoor dit geheim te houden. Waarom?

Het hele systeem van sociale woonmaatschappijen is rot tot op het bot. Ook in Vlaanderen trouwens.

Yesterday, we introduced you to our newest addition, Bumpy the orphaned hippo. This was his flight down to Kaluku. He was a perfect passenger – he scrambled right into Keeper Joseph's lap and spent most of the trip chattering in little hippo grunts!

Bumpy is very new to the fold – he was rescued over the weekend. His mother appears to have died in a territorial fight, likely defending her baby's life.

Meet Bumpy!

This enchanting little chap was rescued over the weekend. His mother likely died defending him in a territorial fight and when the Kenya Wildlife Service found him, he was huddled beside her body. They rescued him and placed him in our care.

This was Bumpy's first night with us, snuggled next to Keeper Simon. Simon put his mattress on the ground and the tiny hippo nestled by his side, swaddled in his cherry blanket. After his fraught ordeal, he finally felt at peace and slept soundly in the crook of Simon's arm.
