Building your FCM World Cup team? Here's what you need to know before June 11. 🧵

1/ Use the transfer windows
After every game block, transfer windows open and you can change your squad. This is your edge. Watch the tournament, see who's in form, who's been injured, who's been the surprise of the group stage - then act. The best managers don't set and forget.

2/ Your captain is everything
Your captain earns 2x points on every goal, assist, clean sheet, and win. This is the most important decision you make. Pick a player who plays every game, takes set pieces, and is central to his team's attack. A captain who delivers even 3 goals can be the difference between top 10 and top 50.

And you're not locked in - you can change your captain twice during the group stages and twice during the playoff finals.

3/ Don't sleep on defenders and goalkeepers
A goal from a defender earns 12 points. A clean sheet goalkeeper earns 8. In a tournament where some nations are built to not concede, a quality goalkeeper or ball-playing defender can quietly outscore your attackers week after week.

4/ Think about fixtures, not just names
The biggest names don't always score the most points. Look at which nations have the easiest group stage draw. A midfielder from a team playing three weaker opponents in the group stage can rack up more points than a superstar who's being double-marked every game.

5/ Dark horse picks win competitions
Owning $MBAPPE is safe. But the managers who win are usually the ones who found the $0.03 player who had a tournament of his life. One surprise performer in your team can change everything. Do your homework.

6/ Keep your eye on the leaderboard
This is a competition against other managers. As the tournament progresses, adjust your strategy based on where you are. If you're chasing the top, you need high-risk high-reward picks. If you're defending a top 10 spot, consistency matters more.

7/ Think about fixtures first
Before you pick a player, check when their nation plays. You only earn points on matchdays - so you want players with games coming up in the next game block. A superstar sitting on the bench waiting for his next fixture earns you nothing. Build your squad around who's playing, then rotate in the transfer windows as the tournament progresses.
