@_IWFC@psfcturbines It's always good to hear that
(a) Our behaviour has been appreciated enough to be commented upon.
Perhaps we should forward the email to F.A., SFA., and Thurlow Nunn.
(b) Although I now live a long way away I'm proud that, despite defeat, we can conduct ourselves well.
BREAKING: Congresswoman Jahana Hayes says EXACTLY what we've all been thinking to RFK Jr. during a heated education hearing: "You're a Kennedy!"
That name used to mean something in this country...
"I want to know specifically why the research and the funding has been cut for these programs that address trauma, that address student survivors, that address school-based mental health programs for students who are affected by gun violence," said Hayes. "You're putting out all of these programs, all of these studies about keeping kids healthy. Keeping kids alive is part of keeping them healthy."
"And we're trying to do that by doing these studies to understand why people commit mass shootings," said RFK Jr.
"But you've also cut funding," said Hayes.
"...that has not been done before," Kennedy said.
"You've also cut funding," hammered Hayes.
"...it's been done by the Trump administration," RFK interrupted.
"Sir, I'm going to have to ask you to exercise some restraint. You're a Kennedy!" shot back Hayes. "You know how oversight hearings work."
Kennedy tried to rudely mumble something back, but Hayes bulldozed over him—
"And we don't want the second graders to think that your interruptions are rude, disrespectful, or impatient," she said. "So I'm going to have to ask you to just allow me to finish my questions."
"Well, don't pretend you're asking questions—" tried Kennedy.
"In my home state of Connecticut, where I was a school teacher," Hayes said, talking him down. "In the classroom on the day twenty children were slaughtered and six educators. We worked really hard to see firsthand how to invest in our communities and provide prevention. Connecticut has created some of the strongest school-based prevention systems in the country through multi-disciplinary threat assessment teams, early intervention programs, and partnerships that help schools identify concerning behavior."
Her point is well-observed. Actual leaders at the state level have been working to curb the gun violence epidemic and the Trump administration came in and immediately began undoing their life-saving work. It's not enough for Republicans to block sane gun laws that would prevent shootings, they also feel the need to gut programs that could help in other ways.
As for her point about RFK being a Kennedy, there's a reason why most of his family has either disavowed him or condemned his politics. He has disgraced the legacy of both RFK Sr. and JFK by embracing a demented, pedophiliac fascist in order to achieve personal political power.
RFK Jr. is undeserving of the Kennedy name.
Please ❤️ and share if you think that RFK is no longer a real Kennedy!
BREAKING: Pope Leo brings the HAMMER down on Pete Hegseth and Trump by declaring that "God does not bless any conflict" and condemning the "blasphemy of war" in his harshest remarks yet.
This has MAGA world howling with rage...
"Absurd and inhuman violence is spreading ferociously through the sacred places of the Christian East, profaned by the blasphemy of war and the brutality of business, with no regard for people’s lives, which are considered at most collateral damage of self-interest," Leo wrote on X. "But no gain can be worth the life of the weakest, children, or families. No cause can justify the shedding of innocent blood."
While there is a tenuous ceasefire in place for the Iran War (the terms of which seem to be constantly shifting) there are still bombs, drones, and missiles exploding in the Middle East thanks to Trump's decision to kick off this conflict. Israel is currently engaged in a brutal, mass-murdering war of expansion in Lebanon. And there is a distinct possibility that Trump is simply using this ceasefire to rearm and maneuver military assets before resuming hostilities.
The pope plans to hold a vigil for peace tomorrow, calling on Catholics around the world to come together to pray for an end to the violence. Meanwhile, Republicans on social media are smearing him as a demonic communist for daring to challenge their cult leader's bloodthirsty instincts.
"God does not bless any conflict," Leo wrote on X. "Anyone who is a disciple of Christ, the Prince of Peace, is never on the side of those who once wielded the sword and today drop bombs. Military action will not create space for freedom or times of #Peace, which comes only from the patient promotion of coexistence and dialogue among peoples."
The post was a clear and direct refutation of Hegseth's repeated attempts to characterize this illegal child-murdering war as sanctioned by Jesus Christ. He has called for giving "no quarter" to the "barbaric savages" of Iran and demanded that the American people pray for victory "in the name of Jesus Christ."
As anyone who has taken even a cursory glance at a bible knows, Jesus blessed the peacemakers and never endorsed war. Hegseth's brand of "Christianity" is a perversion of the teachings of Christ that's being used to justify the darkest, most evil acts imaginable.
Pope Leo is firmly on the right side of history.
Please ❤️ and share if you stand with Pope Leo!
"Battle Hymn of the Republic" is not a song to be taken on lightly ... but in light of this week's New Year Trumpian news onslaught, we're sharing this adaptation, called "Battle Hymn of the Empire" - as Trump goes marching on, and dragging us all back to the nineteenth century.
@saltburnbysea Good grief!!!
Surely even the Labour Party PR machine should realise that going to a "non league" football ground without a shirt and tie is the most heinous of all political crimes!!!
@_IWFC@nonleaguedayuk@BasildonUTD I would love to attend, but it's simply not possible.
I am literally waiting for my big toe to fall off, and this neuropathy is making walking and standing VERY painful!!!
@drivers39@_IWFC No, I wouldn't have changed things as quickly. Their connections and success, IMHO, entitled them to a much longer period to turn things round.
As far as your love of the club now, I have no knowledge nor opinion. My view at the time of your arrival is correct, as per your words.
@drivers39@_IWFC 3/
but the facts remain that results are very poor and that our prospects of progress are becoming ever more perilous.
I wish you well Glen, I bear you no ill will.
@drivers39@_IWFC 2/ I have also watched your progress in management for that time and have no down on you.
I have no knowledge of what the present budget, as much as I had no knowledge of the previous one. I am sure that you're doing your best in the circumstances, ... 2/3
