A few days ago I had the privilege of attending and also helping in organising the Regional Workshop on Black Neck Crane Conservation in New Delhi.
The workshop was particularly special since as CEO of Save the Himalayas Foundation we were in the forefront of this event.
Glad to see the co-founder Dr George Archibald came all the way from Wisconsin. At 80 years he remains committed to saving the black neck crane.
We had delegations from China, Bhutan and Nepal in addition to good presence of environmental experts from India.
Ladakh has just organised the first Black Neck Crane festival and hope that helps in conservation of the endangered bird.
Dr Pankaj Chandan, leading expert on the Black Neck Crane, did outstanding work in putting this workshop together.
