@TomFrankly @seandsweeney With the majority of our multi unit housing being over 100 years old (and having only 3-6 units usually), we Bostonians are used to 3 level apartment buildings with no elevator and no parking. Only buildings over 3 stories tall have elevators. Citywide 2% apartment vacancy rate.

@PluginHyBrad Your best negotiating power is buying in Nov or Dec when they need to hit their yearly quotas. In December 2020 I negotiated a new car lease down from $625 per month to $500 per month, bumped up to 15k miles/yr & got them to forgive the remaining 3 months on my current lease.

@YIMBYLAND We have lots of these in Boston. Used to be the business owner lived in a unit above and family members lived in the 2nd unit and ground floor was the business. But now the elderly owners are retiring, the adult kids don’t want to keep the business going. Hard to finance them.
