The Panthers were honoring Matthew Tkachuk & fellow USA members who brought home gold
Tkachuk went over to share the moment with a 101 year old WWII vet 🇺🇸
Team USA won our first men’s hockey gold medal in 46 years.
In the moment, they honored a former teammate tragically killed
They spoke of nothing but their pride in being American

🚨A Hamilton County Deputy was murdered today.🚨
Not by accident. Not in a moment of chaos. But targeted—ambushed and killed while directing traffic at the University of Cincinnati commencement ceremony.
And here’s what should outrage every decent person:
The driver who hit and killed that deputy was the father of the thug who fled from Cincinnati Police yesterday —armed with a gun—and was shot and killed by CPD.
Let that sink in.
Instead of taking accountability for his son’s criminal actions, this father chose revenge. He got in his car and intentionally drove into a deputy simply because he wore a badge.
Where was this father yesterday, when his son was running wild with a gun?
Where was his outrage when that kid endangered lives and forced officers into a deadly encounter?
This is bigger than one family.
This is about a culture that defends criminals and demonizes the cops trying to stop them.
This is evil. And it’s unacceptable.
💔 And this one hurts.
I knew this deputy. He was one of a kind. A cop’s cop. The kind of guy who made you proud to do this job. He deserved better—his family deserved better.
⚠️Enough is enough.
👮♂️To my brothers and sisters in uniform:
⚠️Stay sharp. Stay focused. Stay ready.
🎯The uniform makes you a target—but your training, awareness, and mindset keep you alive.
🫱🏼🫲🏽Watch each other’s backs.
😔Don’t get complacent.
This job is more dangerous than ever, but we still show up—for each other and the people who depend on us.
🕊️ We owe it to ourselves, our families, and the memory of our fallen to keep fighting the right way.
It is with great sadness that we tell you K9 Preacher was killed in the line of duty last night.
Maine State Police K9 Preacher, a two-year-old Belgian Malinois, was killed in the line of duty last night during a tactical team operation in Portage. Preacher and his handler, Sgt. Jonathan Russell, served the greater Southern Field Troop area and the Maine State Police Tactical Team. Sgt. Russell and K9 Preacher attended the Maine State Police K9 Patrol School in the fall of 2023, where they became a certified patrol team.
The tactical team was deployed in response to an armed standoff involving a suspect who had shot an Aroostook County deputy on Monday, February 3, 2025. The standoff lasted several hours before the suspect attempted to flee the residence around 8 p.m. K9 Preacher was deployed to apprehend the suspect when he was shot in the abdomen. Following the shooting, the suspect was engaged by Sgt. Jonathan Russell and Specialist Andrew Hardy, who returned fire. The suspect was pronounced dead on the scene. K9 Preacher was immediately rushed to an emergency veterinary clinic in Presque Isle, where he was stabilized. Despite the efforts of veterinary staff, he succumbed to his injuries early this morning. He was surrounded by Sgt. Russell and several members of the tactical team when he passed.
“K9 Preacher was more than just a working dog—he was a dedicated partner, a protector, and a hero,” said Colonel William Ross. “Most people will never understand the sacrifices made by our K9 teams, but last night, Preacher made the ultimate sacrifice to protect others from harm.”
The Maine State Police extends its heartfelt condolences to Sgt. Jonathan Russell and the entire K9 Unit. The loss of Preacher is a profound reminder of the courage and dedication of our law enforcement officers and their K9 partners. 💙
“God help me. Jesus help me. Are you ready guys? Let’s roll!” - Todd Beamer’s last words to a phone operator before charging the cockpit with fellow passengers and downing United Flight 93 before it could crash into DC.
Never forget these American heroes.
On behalf of the Boston Fire Department, I extend our deepest condolences to the family & friends of Fire Chief Corey Compertore, who lost his life in the assassination attempt on former President Trump. We mourn his loss &stand with our fellow firefighters in PA.
Chief P. Burke
Remembering the 19 Granite Mountain Hotshots who perished 11 years ago today. The Yarnell Hill Fire remains one of the nation's deadliest #wildfires. #firehero
Another cop dead. This time in MI. Deputy Bill Butler was helping another deputy at a traffic stop when the suspect pulled a gun and killed him. Butler, 51, leaves behind 5 children. Again, we ask, where is the nationwide anger and outrage when a police officer is murdered?
On behalf of Commissioner Burke and the Boston Fire Department our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are for the family and friends of Matthew Troy of Engine 10 who passed away too soon from occupational cancer. He will be missed, May he Rest in Peace
"We will accept nothing less than full victory!" - General Dwight D. Eisenhower
Thank you to all the heroes who fought on D-Day to defend freedom.🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
A father spent hours looking for news about his son after a mass shooting in Maine. He eventually learned that his son, a bar manager, died while trying to "protect his people" by grabbing a knife and confronting the gunman. https://t.co/CvbGCM6YCW
