Europe sells weapons like French Mirage jets, Swedish Bofors guns, British and German arms to Pakistan and others - weapons that have been used against Indian soldiers on the border and in wars. Yet they question our energy purchases from Russia. We have never endangered Europe, but they arm our adversaries and then lecture us.
Jaishankar’s answer was spot on - India buys Russian oil for our people and economy. No hypocrisy will stop Bharat from protecting its interests.

🚨Jaishankar’s Sharp Reply on Russian Oil & European Hypocrisy!
When questioned about India’s continued purchase of Russian oil, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar gave a candid and unapologetic response:
“For many many years European countries sold and still sell weapons which are used to attack India. We Indians have never done anything to endanger Europe.”
He further exposed the double standards of the West:
•The US itself asked India in 2022 to buy Russian oil to stabilise global energy markets.
•Later, when it no longer suited them, they started pressuring India to stop.
“It is ‘do it when it suits us’ and ‘don’t do it when it doesn’t.’”
India buys Russian oil because it serves the interest of 1.4 billion Indians - keeping fuel prices affordable and protecting our economy. We will not sacrifice our energy security or national interest to please anyone. Strategic autonomy means Bharat decides what is best for Bharat.
Europe and the West must understand - the era of lectures and hypocrisy is over. India engages the world as an equal, not a junior partner.
What do you think is Jaishankar right to call out this blatant double standard? Should India continue buying Russian oil as per our national needs? Thoughts below 👇 🇮🇳

“Next few days” again with no Israel in the talks - this pattern makes it hard to believe it’s a permanent end. For India, the only safe path is rapid energy self-reliance. Bharat First!
🚨Trump Announces “Great Settlement” with Iran – But Will the War Really End?
US President Donald Trump has declared:
“We just made a great settlement of the war with Iran, and we’re going to be subject to finalization of documents, which should get done over the next few days.”
He said a peace agreement will soon be signed in Europe. The talks involved leaders of Qatar, UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
Key Concerns:
•No specific date given - again only “next few days.”
•No mention of Israel at all, even though Israel started the initial strikes and has been central to the conflict.
•This is not the first time Trump has spoken of a “final deal shortly.”
Any real, lasting peace that stabilises the Strait of Hormuz would benefit India’s energy security. But repeated “few days” announcements without concrete timelines or inclusion of all parties (especially the one that began the war) raise serious doubts whether this will actually end the conflict or just become another temporary pause.
What do you think will this “settlement in few days” finally end the Iran war, or is it another short-lived announcement? Why was Israel kept out when it started the conflict? Thoughts below 👇 🇮🇳

@Chellaney How long will we endure all the consequences of being a partner who is not given the same importance and is even seen as a side relationship?
🚨Attacks on Indian Vessels & Sailors in Iran Conflict – Timeline & India’s Response
The escalating US-Iran tensions in the Gulf of Oman / Strait of Hormuz have directly hit Indian seafarers and shipping.
Key Recent Timeline:
•June 8, 2026: US strike on Palau-flagged tanker MT Marivex (Indian crew) - 24 Indian sailors rescued by Omani forces.
•June 10-11, 2026: US strike on another tanker MT Settebello off Oman coast - 3 Indian sailors killed (Aditya Sharma, Shivanand Chaurasiya, Patnala Suresh). 21 others rescued. The ships were accused of violating US blockade related to Iran.
India’s Response:
•Strongly protested the US actions and summoned the US Chargé d’Affaires.
•Emphasised the need for safe passage of commercial shipping and protection of Indian nationals.
•Called for de-escalation and respect for international maritime law.
These tragic incidents and disruptions threaten our energy imports through the critical Hormuz route. Indian lives lost are unacceptable. While we remain neutral, India must firmly protect its citizens, secure shipping lanes, and accelerate energy diversification to reduce vulnerability.
To address these challenges, we should fast-track the Atmanirbhar energy push, strengthen strategic reserves and ensure robust diplomatic and naval measures for seafarer safety.
What do you think should India push harder for de-escalation in the region while protecting our energy routes and citizens? Thoughts below 👇 🇮🇳

🚨Trump’s Latest Press Comments on Iran: More Strikes Coming
In today’s White House remarks, President Donald Trump made it clear that the US will continue striking Iran hard:
•“We hit them hard yesterday and we’re going to hit them hard again today.”
•He called Iran “all talk and no action” and said the “Bully of the Middle East is DEAD.”
•Trump accused Iran of taking too long to negotiate a deal and warned they “will have to pay the price.”
However, there are also reports that the US may stop the strikes shortly if progress is made on a deal (including reopening the Strait of Hormuz).
Any escalation in the Iran-Israel-US conflict directly threatens the Strait of Hormuz through which a large part of India’s oil imports pass. Fresh strikes raise fears of higher global crude prices, inflation, and risks to Indian nationals in the Gulf.
What do you think will Trump force a quick deal with Iran, or will strikes continue and push oil prices higher? How should India secure its energy right now? Thoughts below 👇 🇮🇳
