This war is the result of two decades of lifelines thrown to a brutal regime — weak western politicians kicking the can down the road, opportunists laundering its crimes, and the voices of its victims being ignored.
Twenty years of diplomatic ping-pong instead of courage brought us here. The world will be a better place without the mullahs. Period.

Hard to deny the happiness I just personally witnessed in San Francisco just now.
The love amongst this crowd of Iranians was palpable; the joy contagious!
Easily thousands gathered to celebrate freedom!
Most beautiful shot of the most beautiful building in NY. There I was, surrounded by Iranian demonstrators in NYC, feeling a sudden, desperate need to hug a compatriot who actually gets it. I turned to the guy next to me—who was waving the flag like a pro—and asked for a hug. We embraced. It was a Moment.
Then he looked at me and said, "I’m happy for you... but I’m Italian!"
I was halfway to a mid-protest identity crisis when he added, he added, "But my wife is Iranian, so I’m just as happy!"
Iranian or not, if you love freedom, you are happy today

Persian bakery in my neighborhood was blasting celebratory music and full of revelers today.
I asked the man behind the cashier if he was happy. “It’s one of the happiest days of our lives,” he said
(The bakery has a photo of a
22 year old nephew killed last week by the regime on the door.)
I just got off the phone with some folks in Tehran. They told me, "You have no idea how much we danced and celebrated last night. The streets were packed with people, jumping up and down in jubilation until dawn."
They said "Don't worry about us. We are fine. Americans and Israelis are careful, surgical with their targets."
This is how hope takes root. Not in silence, not in fear, but with defiance in streets that refuse to stay quiet.

Happening Now: Iranian Americans marching through the streets of Los Angeles in celebration.
🇮🇷 They’re carrying a massive Iranian flag and some are holding 🇺🇸 and 🇮🇱 flags as well.
Breaking: Israel has confirmed that Iran’s supreme leader was killed in strikes on Saturday, according to two Israeli sources familiar with the matter.
One of the sources said Israel had obtained a photo of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s dead body. The second source said an official announcement is being prepared.

Iranian people did not take to the streets and sacrificed thousands of lives for a better nuclear deal with their murderous rulers. They took to the streets for a secular democratic Iran. Such a transition, more possible now than ever, is the sole solution to the nuclear question.
I was unnerved by statements being made by people involved in the Iran file suggesting that if the ayatollah could change his ways, we might be able to reach an agreement with the regime.
Anyone who believes that the ayatollah is remotely interested in changing his ways does not understand the history of the ayatollah and the murderous regime. That’s the same as believing someone could have done a deal with Hitler. They were wrong then about Hitler, and they are wrong now about the ayatollah. Adolf Hitler wanted a master race governed by the superiority of the Aryans. The ayatollah is a religious Nazi who wants a world religion that he governs. Both are sick.
You cannot do a deal with evil. You have to confront it. In this case, that means standing behind the people of Iran.
Farhang Foundation mourns the horrific loss of innocent lives in Iran. We are deeply saddened by the suffering of families and communities who are enduring unimaginable grief. Our hearts are with the people of Iran in this painful moment in our history.
Iran is one of the world’s oldest civilizations and the birthplace of human rights, articulated more than 2,500 years ago by Cyrus the Great. The sanctity of life, respect for human dignity, and the fundamental importance of freedom are values woven into the very fabric of Iranian history and culture. These principles are essential to the Iranian people and have endured across centuries of hardship, violence, and loss.
Farhang Foundation stands in solidarity with the people of Iran and affirms the universal importance of human rights, compassion, and humanity. We honor the resilience of the Iranian people and hold space for remembrance, empathy, and hope.
