Members of the Bowie Volunteer Fire Department were proud to continue the tradition of Volunteers helping Volunteers by staffing Rehab Support 819 at the funeral for Baden Volunteer Fire Department Life Members Buddy and Shirley Boswell.

The visitation and funeral for Life Member and retired PGFD Technician Tucker Clark will be held Wednesday, July 22nd at Rausch Funeral Home in Owings. Visitation is from 2:00 - 4:00pm; funeral at 4:00pm.

Bowie VFD Volunteers are spending the day answering calls and training. The training topic this morning for our newest members was deployment and use of the 400 foot attack line.

BVFD Volunteers participated in a Touch a Truck event today at Chapel Forge Early Learning Center @CityofBowie We enjoyed the opportunity to talk with the kids about how fire engines work and basic fire safety.

Beginning on June 1, 2026, City facility hours are changing.
City Hall and the Police Department will be open to residents Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The City of Bowie Museums is shifting its open hours to Saturdays and Sundays, 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Our Volunteers are spending the day staffing at Co.39 and participating in multi level training. An Engine crew participated in a combined Volunteer/Career Battalion RIT drill, followed by in station skills training for newer members.
