I think he was sitting around waiting for the Ramos - Nursultanov Interim title fight. That fight got punted to September, then Ramos got ill. Then they made Nursultanov mandatory, and then Adames signed for Zuffa. So I think they've just allowed him a 'get out' in the middle of a war zone.
