I always see a lot of discourse and bashing around Diablo’s simplicity of gearing (green arrow up = good memes etc) especially from other ARPGs enjoyers (games which I also love)
My 2 cents is that people seriously underestimate how large a player base and many casual (or otherwise) players in general just want to smash monsters in the face, get dopamine hits in numbers and move on without the need to overthink, plan, check guides etc and are quite content with it
There’s a reason Blizzard designs their items the way they do in Diablo and it’s to cast as wide a net on a player base with low barrier to entry
