Know the difference.!!
90% of people donโt know this, and vast majority of healthcare professionals mix this up a lot.
Diabetes Insipidus: This is a condition where the body can't hold onto water, causing you to feel very thirsty and urinate a lot. It's often due to issues with a hormone that helps control water balance.
Diabetes Mellitus: This is a common condition that affects how your body uses sugar. Either your body doesn't produce enough insulin (the hormone that helps sugar enter cells) or the cells don't respond to insulin well. This leads to high blood sugar levels.

How people get Meningitis:
Meningitis is caused by infections (bacterial, viral, fungal) or sometimes non-infectious factors (like certain medications). It often spreads through respiratory droplets, direct contact with an infected person, or contaminated surfaces.
Treatment:
1. Bacterial Meningitis: Requires immediate treatment with intravenous antibiotics and sometimes corticosteroids.
2. Viral Meningitis: Typically does not require specific treatment; rest and fluids are advised.
3. Fungal Meningitis: Treated with antifungal medications.
Prevention:
1. Vaccination: Get vaccinated against common forms of meningitis, such as meningococcal, pneumococcal, and Hib vaccines.
2. Good hygiene: Wash hands frequently, avoid close contact with infected individuals, and do not share personal items.
3. Avoiding crowded places can reduce risk during outbreaks.
