If April 2026 had a heartbeat, it would sound like ZION by @TeniEntertainer and @Olamide. They both gave us the most soul-stirring record of the month.
I hope the ones that have formed Association of leaders over the ecosystem are actively monitoring the events of today and understand they contributed to this damage by not pushing back at many narratives that have clouded the Afrobeats community in recent years.
I’d love nothing more than to be handled well, by life, others and most importantly, by myself. We came to the world with arbitrary instructions that I struggle to make sense of, and I think life struggles with these instructions too. Grace is all we can ask for, all I could ask.
You can’t be passive about your goals. There’s no documented successful person who passively achieved success. Even to generate passive income, you must actively pursue the interest until it starts to fetch guaranteed return.
Granted, there are periods where things get out of focus and your momentum slows down. You must use those periods to fix the foundations that matter, against when things get clearer.
These can the things like your mental and physical health, learning and developing yourself, or even fixing your sleep schedule.
When the tide turns in your favour again, you’ll be equipped to move at unprecedented speed.
Success truly requires luck, but my bro, you have to be prepared.
Move, omo iya mi, ma lo repeti.
Happy Monday 🚀
The Rolling Stone Africa cover featuring Don Jazzy @DONJAZZY is a testament to his immense contributions to Afrobeats and Nigerian music.
As a pioneer, producer, and innovator, Don Jazzy has shaped the sound and direction of Afrobeats, influencing a generation of artists.
Tems @temsbaby just surprised us with a seven‑track EP that feels like a private diary set to airy alt‑R&B and Afrobeats. She wrote, arranged almost everything herself, so the whole thing has that auteur‑level intimacy you only get when an artist is completely in her own head.
If you loved BORN IN THE WIND this EP feels like a natural, more introspective extension of that world, and it cements Tems as one of the most compelling voices of her generation.
