colin’s eyes widen almost comically, and he shakes his head rapidly, tucking his hands into his pockets a little nervously. “ no! no, no! they look—- i like the highlights! you just—- look . . . off. down. weird. ”
brows furrow almost instantly, reaching out to knock jamie’s hand away from his bag to try and get him to not leave. “ you just—- look . . . weird. ” he muses, not sure how else to put it.
he glances down at the squeeze to his shoulder, brows furrowing ever so slightly before glancing back at jamie again. “ look, boyo. i actually pride myself in reading people, so—- ” he trails off.
he rocks back and forth on his heels just a little. jamie had a distinctive smile, he’s come to realise, and this one isn’t his usual. “ err . . . not worried, like. you just seem off, fella. ” he’d shrug.
eyes darting between the other’s features and then at his cubby, clearing his throat before shaking his head. “ no—- no. keep your collection. ” he’d joke. “ sure you’re alright ? ”
staring for a few moments, working up the courage to say something as he taps his fingers against his sides rhythmically.
“ jamie ? ” he’d finally settle on, clearly a little hesitant.
he almost beamed at the compliment, arms now wrapping around his chest as he crossed them, nodding as he looked over at her.
“ heard you in the stands and all. ” he teased with a little grin and laughter.
Keeley is smiling right back. She is very proud of him actually. The team played very well and Hughes should definitely be proud of himself.
" Welldone boys! Oh, you did amazing Colin. "
@PRICKSTRIKE
he looked up at jamie as he spoke, before moving a hand to try and brush some of his hair back as the other’s headed off to get changed.
“ how’d you do that one then? ” he’d ask, referring to a goal scoring shot that the other had taken in their last match.
@TCIndependent
he leant forward to speak, a little huff and a hum as he did so, trying to adjust the hoodie around his neck so he was comfortable.
“ next you’ll be on the pitch. ” he’d joke, a smile on his face that showed absolutely zero thoughts behind his eyes.
