If elections in Suffolk are postponed for a second time in 2026.
And the new unitary authority/ties start in 2028... would these postponed elections actually happen in 2027? Hmmm
The Local govt minister Alison McGovern says she is seeking representations by mid January from councils who want to delay next year’s elections because of reorganisation Fellow @UKLabour MP Florence Eshalomi says she is ‘disappointed’ -it’s been done at short notice

West Suffolk MP @NJ_Timothy asks Energy Secretary if he has visited the Sunnica solar farm site and "how many hours did it take" to read report advising against approving it.
Ed Miliband says he is a "super nerd" and took decision "incredibly seriously".
Not clear yet what this means for Suffolk's devolution deal which was agreed with previous Gov.
Am told will be discussion between council and Gov. about what's been already agreed... guess it's then for Labour to decide if acceptable.
Today I’ve written to local leaders in devolution deserts to kickstart change.
Let’s work together to boost growth and opportunity in every part of the country.

Statement from Sunnica: "Sunnica is immensely pleased with the decision by the Secretary of State to grant development consent. Sunnica would make a nationally significant contribution towards the UK’s legal obligation to reach net zero emissions by 2050 and its energy security."
Decision on Sunnica had been delayed from September 2023.
Comes as new Labour government sign off on three solar farms across the country.
Reax to follow.
