Ford is teeing up our water treatment utilities, schools and hospitals for sale.

Carney is teeing up our airports and seaports for sale.

We'll all be a lot poorer when we have to pay a profit margin for services we used to own and receive at cost.

It's another step in a neoliberalism revolution that included the Liberals selling Ontario Hydro and the Conservatives selling the 407.

Federal Minister of Jobs Hajdu cites "crisis" as the reason for stripping workers rights and selling leases on our airports.

Neoliberalism is the ideology that workers rights should be stripped away and all public services and assets—airports, water and electrical utilities, schools and hospitals, should be given to private corporations so they can profit by selling our services back to us.

Of course no one would vote for this, so the standard excuse is to cite a "crisis" as the reason for the sell-off.

Carney is moving ahead with the sale of airport concessions.

In Australia and Greece where airports were sold—prices for travellers went up, jobs were cut and service levels went down.

We have built and paid for our airports with our taxes and passenger fees. Now Carney is giving them to the private sector so they can generate a profit off of us.

🇵🇸 All of Ed Sheeran’s scheduled supporting acts have quit his Loop tour after Macklemore was removed for declaring “Free Palestine” and condemning Israel’s genocide during two MetLife Stadium shows.

➤ Finneas, the Grammy-winning American singer and producer best known as Billie Eilish’s brother and collaborator, withdrew from six South American dates: “Artists must not be silenced when they speak up for the oppressed. I stand with Palestine and its people.”

➤ Dublin singer-songwriter Aaron Rowe said Irish people know “genocide, forced famine and violent occupation.” He accused billionaires of silencing opposition to Israel’s genocide and “the savage murder of children.”

➤ Danish pop band Lukas Graham, known for the hit “7 Years,” said: “Money doesn’t give you the right to own the conversation. Nobody’s bank balance should decide who gets to speak.”

➤ Beoga, the Northern Irish folk band that collaborated with Sheeran on “Galway Girl,” served as his touring band and helped found Irish Artists for Palestine, said playing venues that silence advocacy for a free Palestine was “simply not an option.” The group accused “the Zionist lobby” of trying to silence artists.

Sheeran says he is “not complicit,” as promoters and stadiums made the decision to remove Macklemore. Macklemore noted that billionaire Robert Kraft rallied venue owners to threaten the tour with cancellation if he remained.

Billy Bishop is the perfect example of why we shouldn't privatize airports.

J.P. Morgan is losing money on their investment, so they lobby Ford and Carney for a $5 billion taxpayer bailout to expand the airport for jets and destroy the waterfront.

If we privatize our airports they no longer serve us. Corporations increase fees and reduce service to maximize profits.
