Thanks to my colleague for their support on these bills, now headed to @CAgovernor's desk!
We're working to increase park and beach access, expand notification of rights for mobile home park tenants, and limit purchasing of military-grade weapons without local approval.
This week, I hosted my final hearing as Chair of the Select Committee on Happiness and Public Policy Outcomes.
I want to thank every panelist who joined us over the past months to share their research and success stories, as well as my colleagues for their insightful questions.
Last week I presented at my first academic conference in more than 20 years.
I spoke at the International Hemingway Society Conference in Bilbao, Spain about Hemingway's impact on leadership.
It was fun (and a little nerve-wracking) to be back on the academic beat.
This is exactly why I authored #AB2202.
It’s unfair to surprise guests with a long list of chores.
AB 2202 requires that all cleaning tasks, and any penalties you face for not completing them, be available to view BEFORE you book a vacation rental.

Always great chatting with @WordsmithRich and @oldmanfoster!
Tune in to our conversation on how we create, and why we need, meaningful change in California. 👇
I’m excited to announce I’m chairing the new Select Committee on Happiness & Public Policy Outcomes.
Our happiness is important. Instead of treating it as a byproduct of policy discussions, we can choose to treat it as the goal, one as worthy of focus as other issues facing CA.
I am blown away by my alma mater @cerritoscollege, who surprised me last night by announcing they are naming the new Student Services Center after me.
Becoming a student at Cerritos changed my life. To have my name associated with support for students is an incredible honor.
