Knicks have sped the Spurs up late in this one, forcing into making too quick of decisions on offense and moving the defense around. Great adjustments from Mike Brown in this second half.
Wemby goes out of the game and the Knicks immediately go on a run to cut the lead to 6. Would appear the first quarter Kornet minutes were a bit of a fluke.
The non-Wemby minutes essentially forced the Spurs into a Game 7 against the Thunder. So far a +8 in the Kornet minutes, if that is remotely sustainable this could be a quick series.
Not sure if it’s realistic but College Basketball beginning in October and playing upwards of 35 games in the regular season is a pretty quick and easy way for these programs wanting extra revenue to get it.
Kentucky hasn’t had a smooth offseason but getting Malachi Moreno back and adding the best shooter in the sport Milan Momcilovic is a pretty good salvage for Mark Pope. Wildcats are in position to contend near the top of the SEC.
The Spurs just had more bucket getters when it mattered most between Champaigne/ Fox/ Vassell/ Harper. Thunder got the great Shai game, but just not enough help.
Unless Shai is going to have another 15 point quarter the Thunder are going to need someone else to step up to win this. Spurs right now have help for Wemby, the Thunder haven’t had it tonight.
Julian Champagnie going 5-6 from 3 is the reason you would never want to play in a Game 7. You just never know which role player will step up and carry the day.
Considering how many of the Luke Kornet/ Carter Bryant minutes have gone in this series, massive advantage for the Spurs to be still ahead by 8 at this point in the game. Wemby has at most one rest remaining.
As entertaining as the NCAA Tournament is, the College Baseball format of double elimination 64 team Tournament would be the best way to actually determine a National Champion.
