Jeremy Clarkson opened a pub in August 2024 with one rule: every single ingredient British. Here is what that rule immediately deleted from a perfectly ordinary pub.
- No coffee.
- No Coca-Cola.
- No gin and tonic. Quinine will not grow here.
- No lemons. No limes.
- No ketchup, for two years.
- No avocado. No pineapple.
His own line was that instead of a slice of lemon you would be offered a slice of turnip.
That list is not a gimmick. It is an audit of how much of a normal British menu now arrives by ship, and the answer turns out to be most of the small things nobody thinks about.
Then the figure underneath it all. A sausage made from his own pigs costs 74p. The same sausage made from imported pig meat costs 18p. He is absorbing that gap on every plate that leaves the kitchen, which is precisely the gap every British pig farmer is asked to compete across, without a television programme paying the difference.
And the ketchup has the best ending in the whole story. So many people asked for it that a sign went up telling them to stop. Then a producer in Chatham built one out of Isle of Wight passata, Hampshire cider vinegar and Essex salt, and it went on the menu.
The demand was always sat there. Nobody had bothered building the supply.
@realdaddydagoth@comara1909@Dornier328_JET@F1 You definitely misread my comment, no country is better than the other, as in neither Serbia nor Bahrain are perfect. Both have political issues, modern slavery & propaganda. I'm well aware that certain countries are better than others, and in this case neither are star advocates
@realdaddydagoth@comara1909@Dornier328_JET@F1 Guess that makes it ok because it happens everywhere? Serbia also have blatant propaganda, biased politics & intimidation techniques for activists. From an outsider no country is better than the other, each have major drawbacks.
@realdaddydagoth@comara1909@Dornier328_JET@F1 Serbia has modern slavery which includes human trafficking, forced labour and forced marriage. Im not a big fan of how Middle Easten countries are run but it's no better in Serbia
@syws_17@cleinad88@TheSports_Hook@formularacers_@thetimes So without vcarb where would you suggest sending the RB academy drivers considering RB doesn't have anything to do with any other teams? Or would blocking RB academy drivers be OK? As stated before, the other academys have outlets to place their drivers in, with other teams.
@cleinad88@syws_17@TheSports_Hook@formularacers_@thetimes I dont see why not under the right circumstances, pretty sure Redbull Gmbh would rather one of the teams win than neither🤷♂. But the likelihood of the Vcarb being a better challenger unit than the Redbull is incredibly slim
@syws_17@TheSports_Hook@formularacers_@thetimes No they're not sister teams, but they're still access routes for young drivers to join the grid for the major teams. So you stating that vcarb is blocking new drivers isn't true.
@syws_17@TheSports_Hook@formularacers_@thetimes 8 of the current driver lineup came from the redbull program, the highest on the grid, Bearman came from Ferrari via Haas, Perez via Sauber, Leclerc via Sauber, Russell via Williams, Ocon via MRT. Do you have a problem with these other examples of programs using other teams too?
@AdamJ6811@MaxiMumMother@GBPolitcs Im assuming you mean the 2 bits that ive circled? They just looks like shadows of some kinda post or power line to me, I definitely could be wrong but that "bar" on the rear window doesn't look like a bar to me. Its definitely had some AI enhancer on it to make it clearer and
@christi30048233@TheRealPigman2@ArchRose90 he's been thrown to the floor, punched, then on the way up, he's again been thrown against the shutter, how do you think he's going to react? He's also complient once he knows who he's been restrained by. As well as that, he's the one who has been attacked, yet he's been arrested
@headspace4rent@Humanlty1o1 None of the 3 countries listed are one set ethnicity, there's over 2000 ethnic and ethnolinguistic groups in India alone. You fucking moron.
Why are you talking about the full force of the law?
How do you know this wasn't mental health?
Please don't speculate online.
Don't look back in anger.
Misinformation?
For holding his rape gang inquiry, Rupert Lowe has received endless abuse and countless death threats.
He did it because nobody else would.
Whatever you think of Rupert's politics, that takes balls.
