My NBA Finals prediction:

Celtics in 5.

This isn't really as much about the Mavs and not believing in them. This is how confident I am in Boston. But for some reasoning:

-I think the four stars will all show up. I trust the Celtics "other guys" more than I trust the Mavericks "other guys" to show up too.

-Both teams are going to score. It'll be about which team can buckle down and get stops on occasion, and I think Boston can do that better than Dallas.

-There are more attack points on the Mavs defense than the Celtics defense.

-Boston may shoot themselves out of a game, or maybe even two. But you have to win a math problem four times in seven to beat the Celtics, and no one has solved that equation all year.

-For all of the "Boston hasn't played anyone! They've had an easy path!" stuff (which is all somewhat true!), Dallas hasn't seen a team like the Celtics either. Boston is better than anyone the Mavs have played, because they do it on both ends of the floor.

-Finally: The Celtics are 76-20. They went 64-18 in the regular season. They've been dominant all year long. That's carried over to the playoffs. It's a different team than the ones from years past.

I fully own Luka and/or Kyrie could win a game, maybe two, by themselves and I'll look dumb. I could very well be wrong that it's over in 5. But I am extremely confident in these Celtics, as I have been all season long. Everything has built to this. This is the best team of this Celtics era by a wide margin. It's time for Banner 18.
