Fiscal responsibility is not $77 billion in cumulative costs to taxpayers over the last 8 years.

Since Pritzker took office, the average household is paying nearly $1,500 more in taxes than before he took office.

How is $1,500 less in the pockets of taxpayers fiscally responsible?

If only Democrats practiced what they criticize, the hypocrisy is staggering.

In June of 2021 the Democrats in Chicago spent $2.5M to change the signs on Lake Shore Drive because they renamed it DuSable Lake Shore Drive.

At the time Democrats in Chicago were telling businesses if they could open, when they could open & how many ppl they could serve when they were allowed to be open.
While Chicagoans faced financial uncertainty the city spent money they didn’t have, at the time Chicago was $53B in debt.

But let’s rename the street, that helped Chicagoans so much. Suddenly Democrats are anti-renaming things?

30 Americans killed in 17 fatal crashes involving non-resident commercial drivers last year.

Illinois under Secretary @Giannoulias, who is running for Chicago mayor, issued nearly 1 in 5 of those licenses illegally. More than 10,000 remain active.

Last October, illegal immigrant Borko Stankovic of Lyons used a suspended Illinois CDL to drive a semi that killed Jeffrey Eberly just across the border.

Yet @ILAttyGeneral is celebrating a court order that blocks federal access to 17 million CDL records.

Chicago has all of the makings to be a world-class city again.

Chicagoans just need to ask themselves if they’re willing to fall for bread and circuses again.

There is one candidate with the demonstrated bona fides at the executive, legislative, and municipal level that can make this happen.

She already did.

She went straight to our creditors. She worked with them in good faith, asked how we could improve our fiscal footing, and she made it happen.

When the house is on fire I’m not looking for someone to tell me it’s not.

I’m looking for someone who knows how to kick the door down and say this is how you get out.

Susana Mendoza is the only candidate with the competence and courage to lead us out of the next great fire(sale).

Illinois just discovered its emergency management agency spent $78.5 million on standby pay for contractors who were available but not working.

Nearly 470,000 hours in total. $7.5 million of it went to 270 contractors who never performed any actual work at all.

The agency never calculated how many people it needed. Instead, the vendor set the headcount and the state simply paid the invoices. Real oversight barely existed.

All of this happened under Governor Pritzker, who has raised taxes and fees on Illinoisans more than 50 times. Taxpayers keep getting squeezed for more revenue, while the state spends without restraint.

The auditor general only surfaced these numbers years later, and the people who allowed it are still running the show.

Zero accountability. Classic Illinois.
