I believe there is no scriptural evidence supporting that she stayed a virgin afterwards (please provide if so). Therefore, I do not believe in the perpetual virginity.

Again, I’m not here to argue, but there’s no point to perpetual virginity. There is no scripture indicating Mary was sinless, but sex within the bounds of marriage is still holy. Paul says the bed is undefiled.

If you’d like, please state scripture to support your claims, but there’s no point in arguing our perspectives that won’t change.

@Buzzsaws1990 @DEGOPer @ScottRoberts @Pontifex I feel like you’re attempting to lead me to a place where I say Matthew wasn’t referring to Joseph knowing Mary after she had Jesus, which would then “prove” perpetual virginity (which it does not regardless of your interpretation). Are there any passages stating she was?

@Buzzsaws1990 @DEGOPer @ScottRoberts @Pontifex The Bible revolves around Jesus. There would be no purpose in a prophecy about Jesus as the Messiah mentioning that Mary had multiple children. It is not implying that He was her only child.

@Buzzsaws1990 @DEGOPer @ScottRoberts @Pontifex Brother what is the passage saying? Joseph didn’t know Mary until she had Jesus. Know is referring to consummating the marriage. These passages refer to His siblings.

He saith to THE disciple (singular): Behold THY mother. And from that hour, THE disciple (singular) took her to HIS own.

No indication in any form or fashion in that verse or anywhere else in the Bible that she is every disciple’s mother from then on.

@DEGOPer @ScottRoberts @Pontifex As the mother of Jesus as she lived a pure life and was chosen to do so, just understood that her being chosen was grace from God and not to be elevated to any kind of spiritual authority.
