2. This chart shows why 2019 is a "black swan" event for US corn planting progress. We have had extremely wet Aprils before. We have had extremely wet Mays before. But one right after another? Not for at least the last 40 years. This is why we are only at 49% today.
11. Absolutely crucial to remember that we have no experience with PP acres in years where corn planting is this late. The reason is that we did not have revenue crop insurance products with prevent plant payments back in the 90s, the last time planting was near this late.
12. PP in 2013 was previous high of 3.6 million acres. Please tell me why we won't blow right through that? SD alone has almost 5 million acres unplanted as of Sunday and their PP date is Saturday. Illinois is only at 24% for goodness sake.
