This is not an absolute but in most in self-defense cases, defendants take the stand far more frequently than in typical criminal trials because their personal account is usually essential to establishing the claim. The jurors want to see the mindset of the defendant, they didn't get that in this case. Out of all the people sitting there no one was saw a deadly self defense situation.
@DefiyantlyFree because of their feelings, thats what I get from the two in my family. One I hope grows out of it the other is a childless cat lady and never will.
I practice law in Collin County, Texas.
Karmelo Anthony will be convicted and sentenced to life in prison.
As he should.
He murdered that boy because he was raised to hate white people and to view himself as a victim in every situation.
It’s a culture thing.
Sentencing Range if Convicted of Murder
Punishment range: 5 to 99 years in prison, or life in prison.
Fine: Up to $10,000 (optional).
This is a standard first-degree felony range for murder in Texas.
Parole eligibility (as a “3G” offense under Texas law):
Must serve the greater of half the sentence or 30 calendar years before becoming eligible for parole.
Good time credit does not reduce this minimum. Because Anthony was 17 at the time of the offense, he cannot receive the death penalty (which doesn’t apply here anyway, as this is not capital murder).
@Pro__Trading Let’s be honest, I’m not really sure what you expect from them unless they told the family they could get him off. They didn’t have much to work with and the state was not interested in a pre trial plea deal.
Wu Tang Clan's Raekwon started calling himself the Black Trump in the 1990's. A time when you could regularly find Trump courtside at a Knicks game.
No rapper will ever name himself after broke ass @RepJeffries, a cornball with less swag than Steve Urkel.
