Transforming treatments and changing lives for people with brain conditions. Supporting The National Hospital and The UCL Institute of Neurology @UCLIoN
Thank you @BrainAppeal for funding Nurse Cristina who will support the patients on our ground breaking Glioblastoma Brain Tumour Drug trial @uclh. If you know a loved one recently diagnosed pre treatment please contact me [email protected]
Ten years ago, five rare dementia groups united to create Rare Dementia Support, building on roots that began in 1994 with a nurse-led FTD group at @UCLIoN Today we support 9,000+ members. This #RareDiseaseDay, thank you to everyone who’s been part of our journey.💜 @BrainAppeal
Members of our lab attended The National Brain Appeal Christmas Concert at Holy Sepulchre Church this year, supporting the charity’s vital work in advancing research into neurological conditions. A wonderful way to start the festive season! 🎻🎄🕯️✨@UCLIoN@BrainAppeal@uclh
🎥 In this moving and inspirational video, I catch up with my good friend George Wade from @Bidpath .. to talk about the incredible Gavel Art Trail … a nationwide project raising funds for three vital charities through art, creativity and community.
George shares more about his journey and the inspiration behind the Bidpath Foundation’s campaign, following his own brave battle with a double brain tumour. His positivity and determination are truly inspiring, and I’m so proud to support him.
I’ve even picked up a paintbrush myself to create “Hansons Golden Gavel” ... my artistic contribution to the trail.
The gavels go under the hammer tonight (6th Nov) at 7.30pm in London, with proceeds supporting:

Huge congratulations to Hani Marcus on his well-deserved promotion to Professor of Neurosurgery! A trustee of The National Brain Appeal, Hani’s pioneering work in robotic brain surgery continues to inspire and we’re proud to have supported it through our Innovation Fund.
It’s a real honour to be promoted to full Professor, and I’m deeply grateful to the many mentors, colleagues, and students who’ve made this possible.
I feel especially fortunate, within the @TEQ_Neurosurg group, to work at the interface of surgery, neurology, and engineering – and to collaborate with brilliant teams across the @QSNeurosurgery, the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology, the UCL Hawkes institute, and now our robotics spin-out, Panda Surgical. Translating technologies from lab to operating theatre has been a real team effort, and the achievement is as much theirs as it is mine.
We’ve been in Spain with @actiu & @castfurnitureuk shaping the future Rare Dementia Support Centre — selecting sustainable, dementia-friendly furniture with lived experience at the heart. Opening 2026. 🌿🪑
@jessrhobson Thank you so much, Jess – we’re thrilled to have you on #TeamBrainAppeal 🧠💙

In memory of my sister Margaret, we launched a Glioblastoma drug trial.
Now, Margaret’s Trial is open on the NHS - and offering real hope.
Ben, diagnosed with a Glioblastoma in 2022, saw his tumour vanish. His story helped make this happen.
