@realdumb2@4Wvz7gq0CE5G6xV I never said "follow the og post 1:1" brochacho 😭 Also it's a tweet that says "goopatron fazbears", I'm not exactly trying to make a solid, cohesive argument about artistic interpretation here
They took the concept of "You're in some weird place with no visible exit and there might be something in there with you" and flanderized it to the point it became "You're in level 383, threat level zeta, evade the goopatron fazbears by clapping your asscheeks at them to escape"
Backroom discourse is filled with vitriol most of the time but there is a clear demarcation that makes one version better in every way in my opinion, and it is to this day my favorite internet urban legend by far.
@4Wvz7gq0CE5G6xV Though to an extent I do get your "twitter buzzword" point because flanderization is a term typically reserved for characters instead of settings
@4Wvz7gq0CE5G6xV Flanderization is when something gets exaggerated or simplified around one or two core traits. For the Backrooms, those traits were the implied monsters and the lack of a known exit, which turned into a menagerie of entities made to look cool and a need to go deeper to escape.
Sometimes I replay specific chapters of Outlast 2 just so I can see my beautiful comically tall wife who hasn't had a shower since the invention of the world wide web

@mrsbogomolova Trials fans will deadass hit you with the "my comfort character is the guy who's an evil rapist nazi. There's nothing more to his character other than being an evil rapist nazi"
@GlitchedCatz@bumble_bbgun Ngl Bendy's story isn't really that "wow". It's fine, kinda good, but nothing to go "WOWZA they really cooked with this one!". Not to mention writing a game is completely different from writing a movie. They're still there to supervise and correct stuff too so 😭
@evilagaiin I get your point that dbd isn't gonna add super sexual shit, but Trials isn't the only OUTLAST game. Marta from OUTLAST II and Chris Walker from the first game don't say nor do anything sexual. And that's just the two I got off the top of my head
