Playing Marathon showed me a side to the ARC Raiders community I really did not like.
There is more than one video game on the market, always has been. Don't be fucking weird.
Low-key he’s so right players just love to never give anything a chance
I was expecting to hate this game but, after 6 hours of grinding I love it and have bought it
@CrivvYT Best take I’ve seen so far I don’t think or want any game to kill any game they both could be great games in the same space as long as both games provide a lot of content
@EmbarkBulletin I don’t think it’s bad but, I also don’t think it’s good I feel as it’s just a new form of sbmm which everyone already hates. On the other hand it allows players who enjoy killing arcs to do exactly that
‼️NEW: Marathon will NOT have Aggression-based matchmaking like ARC Raiders.
"We don't have special matchmaking rules to separate 'non-combat-oriented players,' but we will provide tools like proximity chat so those players can meet and communicate in-game.
"In Marathon, the tension and suspicion of 'not being sure whether other players are hostile' is the core of the survival experience. It’s that uncertainty that drives how unpredictable each run can be." - Joe Ziegler, Game Director (machine translated)

Honestly I really like this. Nice long seasons, starting at pretty much nothing and growing is great. Plus the content rework will be huge for player engagement
