As we celebrate Canada Day, I was proud to join Minister @douglasdowney and Minister @Andrea_Khanjin at Legion Branch 147 to announce that our government is providing full liquor sales licence fee rebates to branches applying for or renewing their licences.
These rebates will save branches across Ontario more than $250K over 5 years, so they can direct more resources toward supporting veterans and other community initiatives.
If your Canada Day plans include live music, fireworks, and a great time at Chinguacousy Park—we’re all for it. Third party security will be conducting bag checks and Peel Police officers will have increased presence.
If your plans include “Bunskin 3.0”—you may want to revisit those plans.
Have fun. Be safe. Look out for each other. And leave the fireworks to the professionals.
🇨🇦 Happy Canada Day!

Starting this summer, we’re increasing speed limits wherever it’s safe to do so on highways across Ontario, getting drivers where they need to go faster.
By October, close to 90 per of Ontario’s highway network will be at 110 km/hr, reflecting the speed for which our highways were designed.
