@BreeDevil14 My family was like, “just take it, you’re smart enough to pass.” Ain’t no way they could pay for a prep course.
That’s why it’s so funny that these privileged, resource heavy, spoiled, dumb kids need their parents to pay their way into the schools we earned a spot in.
@willb_chillin@2FirstNamesss I mean, I can understand how a person like her can come to that conclusion. She’s like, “let’s destroy the concept of race altogether.” But that just ignores how race has, does, & will continue to have consequences for Black people. We can’t afford to just “ignore it”.
When I reminisce about my journey to & through college It reminds me why I get so deeply offended when someone says Black people need to “pull themselves up by the bootstraps”
Democrats should be out in the streets protesting for HR1 right now.
It is the largest overhaul of the electoral system since the 1965 Voting Rights Act.
HR1 creates automatic voter registration and a holiday on Election Day, while banning Super PACs, dark $ and gerrymandering.
Kinda like how countless privileged white kids scrutinized & judged the validity of students of color who’d earned their spots in college while they either paid in or got special consideration for being a legacy? 🤭
I dug the film and all that, but...The character I'm really excited to see coming in the MCU ya'll, the 2nd in line to hold the title of "Captain Marvel", Monica Rambeau. Peace ya'll.
Y’all: “AB really shows a new era for players in the NFL. He’s proof that players have leverage and the owners are losing power.”
NFL: “Bet. Hold my 🍺...”
Each day that goes by where we turn our backs on Puerto Rico + Hurricane María, we are choosing to starve American people.
We are choosing to starve our own citizens, simply because of where *in our own country* they were born.
If we do it here, where could it happen next?
