A winter afternoon: My journey into the world of crypto and DAOs

At first, I was just curious, trying to make sense of this fast-moving, community-driven world. But soon, I realized it was more than just a passing interest; it was something that truly resonated with me.

Witnessing creative ideas come to life, seeing communities rally together to support shared visions, and celebrating the success of projects that started as a spark of imagination — it all reignited a passion I hadn’t felt in years. Through DAOs, I discovered a space where my contributions, no matter how small, could make a real difference.

Woke up this morning feeling… hollow. Like the weight of the world had settled into my chest overnight.
Trump’s new tax policies on Mexico and Canada just sent shockwaves through the crypto market. A relentless sell-off, red everywhere. I know it’s just part of the game, but I’ve never felt this defeated.
For over a year, I’ve been bullish, believing in the cycle, in the inevitable uptrend, in the strongest bull run yet. I told myself, "Buy the dip. This is opportunity." But what if this isn’t the dip? What if every "bottom" is just a gateway to another collapse?
Last night, 50% of my altcoin-heavy portfolio vanished. Just like that. It’s brutal. And for the first time, I’m questioning everything.
Crypto is supposed to be about cycles. About patience. But nearly a year after the halving, what’s left? Not the explosive growth we all anticipated. Just a slow, excruciating bleed. A market that seems determined to break even the strongest hands.
I used to believe that no matter what, the cycle would play out. That conviction got me through every dip, every correction. But today… I don’t know.
Maybe this is just another test. Maybe this is the part where we’re supposed to ‘hold strong.’ But right now, all I feel is uncertainty. And I hate it!!!

As the final day of the Lunar Year 2024, I can’t help but reflect on how challenging this year has been. The economy struggled, and the crypto market wasn’t much better. In the last few months, I found myself venturing into DAO projects, something new and fascinating but also a reminder of how much there is to learn.
It hasn’t been the kind of year anyone would call great, but at least it’s coming to an end. Tomorrow marks the start of a new year - the Year of the Snake. Here’s to hoping it brings better news, not just for me but for my family, career, and finances <3.
