Hey @Ford, Congress, and everyone else that needs to read this.

I am NOT buying any vehicle that will be monitoring me with a camera, and whatever other technology you decide to put in cars, while I am driving. I would rather drive a 1970 car with a carburetor.

And while we are at it, I am not giving you my retina scans, nor letting you test my breath, not even give you my fingerprints.

I am sure the vast majority of Americans feel this way.

Congress allowed this Orwellian mandate to become law. A group of us in the House tried to stop it.

Americans want freedom, not remote controls and mass surveillance.

We must move to repeal this mandate before 2027.

When I saw this bill, my first thoughts were something like, 1) I'm becoming a mechanic and driving something pre-2027 for the rest of my life, 2) when they outlaw that, I'm taking up biking, and 3) when they start surveilling the bikes, I'm switching to running...

Then it hit me: I'm in zugzwang.

My only moves, if I'm to remain a law-abiding citizen, are to either 1) allow myself to be prison probed by the state 24/7/365, or 2) start living in self-imposed 15-minute city conditions.

I have a sudden urge to throw wooden crates into a harbor.

No American wants a kill switch in their car.

No American wants their Fourth Amendment infringed upon by the government.

Republicans would be wise to lean into this issue.

Aren��t we supposed to be the party of constitutional rights and limited government?
