About your Forked BRC-20 Assets:
1. Has been distributed to your wallet since block #859490.
2. Has been forked/upgraded to the BRC-100 Protocol, not in the original BRC-20 protocol.
3. Separate from BRC-20 Assets, that means if you transfer or trade your Forked BRC-20 Assets, your original BRC-20 Assets will still be in your wallet, and vice versa.
4. Can be viewed, listed and traded in #inBRC @in_BRC, that is the BRC-100 & #RSM Indexer and Marketplace, like #OKXWeb3, #ME, #Unisat. #inBRC is absolutely safe with hundreds of #BTC volume.
5. Can be swapped in the BRC-100 Swap: #100Swap @100Swap_io, that is the first AMM DEX on #Bitcoin Layer 1, BRC-100 and #RSM, like #Uniswap.
All your assets (#BTC, BRC-100, BRC-20 Fork, BRC-20, Runes, #Inscriptions, etc.) are safe in BRC-100 protocol, in #inBRC, in #100Swap.

1. in your wallet, you should have received the forked BRC-20 assets on the BRC-100 protocol automatically.
2. in the wallets that you can not control, like CEXs, Layer2s, etc., you have to wait for them to distribute the forked BRC-20 assets to you.

BRC-100 & RSM: Everything you need to know.
tl;dr
BRC-100 is a meta-protocol on Bitcoin L1. It is essentially BRC-20 + smart contracts. BRC-100 was built as an extension to BRC-20 (could even be an in-place upgrade for BRC-20).
RSM is a meta-protocol on Bitcoin L1. It is Runes + smart contracts. RSM was built as an extension to Runes (could even be an in-place upgrade for Runes).
BRC-100 and RSM were both built by the same team (@MikaelBTC).
Meta-Protocols
Because they are both meta-protocols, this means:
1. They use Bitcoin L1 as a full data availability layer
2. Transactions are sorted based on the order in which they are mined to Bitcoin L1
3. You rely on centralized off-chain indexers to parse txns and provide relevant state.
Meta-protocols give you almost unlimited compute, but do not reduce costs or provide additional scalability.
Upgrading BRC-20 and Runes:
BRC-100 and RSM were both built as extensions to their corresponding base meta-protocols (BRC-20 and Runes). Under ideal circumstances, we could upgrade BRC-20 or Runes in-place with BRC-100 or RSM to give each standard additional smart contract programmability.
Of course, we would have to convince Casey to add a programmability layer to Runes. And we would have to convince Domo, L1F, and Unisat to upgrade BRC-20 to BRC-100. So while an in-place upgrade seems like a good idea, in practice it is hard to imagine this ever happening.
And now let’s dive a bit deeper into how the smart contracts work:
State machines: For smart contracts, BRC-100 and RSM both use state machines (e.g., RSM = Runes State Machine). This means you (1) define a a wide variety of meta-protocol subcommands (deposit_liquidity, swap, withdraw_liquidity, bridge, stake, burn), (2) implement them in the meta-protocol standard and indexer, and (3) leverage them in BRC-100 and RSM directly.
Different from a VM: This is a slightly different approach compared to what most meta-protocols are doing to enable programmability. Most meta-protocols pick a VM (like EVM, WASM, or SVM) and add it to their indexer to enable flexible, general purpose programmability. The downside here is developers then need to come in and write meaningful smart contracts for users.
Faster development: BRC-100 and RSM take a state machines approach where they define a set of broader methods (higher level compared to the low level EVM implementations). This enables a faster development process for developers as there are fewer things to think about in your implementation.
Built-in AMM functionality on Bitcoin L1
BTC L1 AMM: AMM methods (such as deposit liquidity to a token pair, swap token A for token B, withdraw liquidity) are all included as subcommands in BRC-100 and RSM. This means that you have full AMM functionality in a meta-protocol on Bitcoin L1 without having to trust anyone else with your assets. No bridging required. No sidechain required. 100% enabled in the meta-protocol itself.
How to handle swap order? There are some challenges with a meta-protocol AMM. If User A swaps token A for token B, and User B swaps token A for token B, and both swap during the same block, how can you determine which swap goes through? And what happens to the other swap?
Slippage & expiration time: Well BRC-100 and RSM have a nice solution for this (essentially identical to Uniswap actually). With every swap request, you specify a slippage tolerance as well as an expiration time for your swap. If your slippage tolerance isn’t met (other traders paid more network fees than you to get mined first, aka slippage was too big) or if the block was mined after your expiration time, then your transaction will fail and will not affect meta-protocol state. You will lose Bitcoin network fees in sending the transaction, but nothing will have been executed on the meta-protocol swap side.
MEV: One potential downside to a Bitcoin L1 swap is all swap requests are public in the mempool. This means that in every Bitcoin block you will have arbitrage opportunities as users trade assets. If you know what people are willing to swap, and you know what their slippage is, then you can try to trade in the pool in front of them to maximize your return on the swaps in aggregate. This is called MEV, and it is very prevalent on Ethereum.
The first meta-protocol fork!
Forking BRC-20: BRC-100 has announced that they will fork the BRC-20 meta-protocol. This means that every balance you have on BRC-20 will be automatically copied across to the BRC-100 protocol. If you own 100 Ordi as a BRC-20, you’ll get 100 Ordi as a BRC-100 asset.
The first meta-protocol fork! This meta-protocol fork is exciting because I don’t think we’ve seen a true meta-protocol fork yet, and I’m sure this won’t be the last. Copying balances over to a new meta-protocol is a fun way to bootstrap a new meta-protocol.
Move assets out of exchanges: But users should be careful because if you hold your BRC-20 tokens in a centralized exchange, or some other location (marketplace) where you don’t own the private keys, you may not be able to get your BRC-100 token airdrop because the real holder of the private keys (a centralized exchange or marketplace) might not support the BRC-100 standard yet. So stay tuned to whatever announcements come out from BRC-100 around where to safely hold your tokens to ensure you get the airdrop in a place where you can easily access it.
Bob’s Take
The state machines path on the smart contract side is unique. I wonder whether this will make it easier or harder for developers to build meaningful applications for users.
The Bitcoin L1 meta-protocol AMM is interesting. The AMM only works for meta-protocols that implement all of the necessary subcommands (meaning it only works for BRC-100 and RSM). And I wonder if the MEV / mempool sniping experience will be terrible or if there will be good ways to mitigate it.
Finally, the meta-protocol fork is awesome! I’m sure we’ll see many more of these as meta-protocols seek to grab the attention of the Bitcoin Season 2 community.
What is BRC-20 Fork?
1. BRC-20 Fork is a hard fork of BRC-20 protocol, like #BCH for #Bitcoin, #ETC for #Ethereum.
2. BRC-20 Fork will introduce the programmability of BRC-100 to BRC-20.
3. BRC-20 Forked assets can participate in all the DeFi of BRC-100, like AMM DEX @100Swap_io, Stablecoin @100_Layer, Farming, etc.
4. BRC-20 Fork will have all the BRC-20 tokens before the fork block, like $ORDI, $SATS, $RATS, $PIZZA, etc.
5. All the on-chain BRC-20 holders will receive the forked BRC-100 assets in the wallet, with exact same amount.
6. BRC-20 Fork does not affect the original BRC-20 assets.
7. BRC-20 Fork will be merged to BRC-100.
8. BRC-20 Fork will happen on Sep. 2 2024.
