@laurabesley There are some in-jokes, but I reckon you could go back and watch the Day of the Doctor without too much trouble - it's a great episode, and even if you do get three Doctors at the same time (plus potential confusion as to whether Chris Ecclestone really is the 9th Doctor...)
@laurabesley Controversial opinion, but everyone knows the basic premise, so just dive in with Who-ever you like. I thought the Christmas special this year was pretty good, good intro for new Doctor and so a good intro for new viewers. I mean it is time travel...
