Nice to have weaning done. Looking forward to the sun coming out and watching these lambs grow. The breed elite system made recording weaning weights a breeze. #breedelite

Stoked with @BreedElite new fleece weigh app! Turning what was a complex job into something a couple of backpackers can handle. Makes taking a midside sample achievable at the same time. auto draft is👌as well allowing us to draught on any stat with ease. Brilliant software!
Bit of Body Condition Scoring going on off the shears. Three and below are drafted off for easier feed management ahead of joining.
We aim to do this for our ewes every time they come into the yards so that every ewe is being fed the right feed.
@sammyw1987 @k_bolto@sheepGeekCP@redbankgrazing@MoojepinMerinos@neXtgenAgri@KgLivestock@sheep_data_mgmt being property specific (ie. build a model that works for each of your properties) or is this something that we are trying to be able to predict CS consistently across Australia with one model. It’s all doable but just need direction as to how far we want to take the model
@sammyw1987 @k_bolto@sheepGeekCP@redbankgrazing@MoojepinMerinos@neXtgenAgri@KgLivestock@sheep_data_mgmt anything data and modelling we need to understand what decisions are being made from the data and how accurate that decision needs to be. Are we trying to determine CS to .25 accuracy or are we only concerned with whether they are 2 vs 3 vs 4. Is it then something that is ok...
@k_bolto@sheepGeekCP@redbankgrazing@MoojepinMerinos@neXtgenAgri@KgLivestock@sheep_data_mgmt @sammyw1987 With only one cs + wt pair you don’t have an understanding of the structure of the ewe. ie. if she comes in next time and has lost x kg you don’t know what cs change that would represent. Either need min two cs + wt pairs over time or some way of accounting for genetic difference
Drafting ewes based on sire allocation from MateSel for this years joining. Used grouping this year based on wool types so we wont have to change matings. The beauty is that we know what we are going to get before the rams go out! Autodrafter and BreedElite make joining easy.
AI sire allocations to ewes. Combining ewe phenotypes and figures to (hopefully) breed the best possible progeny from the most suitable rams. #KarawathaPark#breedelite
